XiuXiu again!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today we are very happy because today May 24, is the European Day of Natural Parks.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the previous post we told you where this day comes from and told you the story of one of the most significant postcards we have: the Tree of Life<\/strong>, which has its origin in the Montseny Natural Park.<\/span><\/p>\n

Postal Arbre de la Vida<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

And as proud of everything that nature inspires us, we want to pay tribute (and boast a little) in the beautiful natural parks we have in Catalonia (which are not few!). Have the shoes ready, because you want to walk all of them right away.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Natural\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Park of Aig\u00fcestortes and Lake of Sant Maurici<\/b><\/h3>\n

Located between the Alta Ribagor\u00e7a, Pallars Sobir\u00e0, Pallars Juss\u00e0 and the Val d’Aran, it forms one of the symbols of the Catalan mountain.<\/span><\/p>\n

It has where the water is the protagonist: waterfalls, sinuous rivers, more than 200 ponds and countless streams.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Natural Park of the Cad\u00ed-Moixer\u00f3<\/b><\/h3>\n

Located in the regions of Bergued\u00e0, Alt Urgell and Cerdanya, it comprises the pre-Pyrenean mountain ranges of the Cad\u00ed, where you can see the silhouette of Pedraforca (symbol of Catalan hiking) and Moixer\u00f3. They shelter a great biodiversity and are places of a beauty and a special attraction.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Montserrat Mountain Natural Park\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

Located in the Mountain of Montserrat, it\u2019s already an icon of the Catalan orography. And one of the most important places of worship for the Monastery and the Sanctuary of Montserrat that are there. Their rocks are formed from runaway torrents.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Montseny Natural Park<\/b><\/h3>\n

Located in the Montseny massif, it has a great biodiversity and a great reserve of water. It stands out for the diversity of vegetation in a reduced space.<\/span><\/p>\n

And it\u2019s the place of inspiration of the postcard XiuXiu “Tree of Life”.<\/strong> We explained in the previous post “What nature taught us…”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

5. Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of the Garrotxa<\/b><\/h3>\n

In La Garrotxa we have a quarantine of volcanoes and more than twenty lava flows. The volcanic zone is the best exponent of volcanic landscape of the Iberian peninsula.<\/span><\/p>\n

But do not forget the amount of forests that exist, among which the Fageda d’en Jord\u00e0 stands out.<\/span><\/p>\n

6. Natural Park of the Aiguamolls of the Empord\u00e0<\/b><\/h3>\n

Lagunas, marshes, fences, rivers, fields and beaches are some of the jewels that we can find in the Alt Empord\u00e0.<\/span><\/p>\n

They\u2019re one of the main wetlands of Catalonia, along with the Ebro and Llobregat deltas.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a07- Natural Park of the Ebre Delta\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

One of the most important humid areas of Western Europe and the largest and most spectacular of all Catalonia located at the mouth of the river Ebro, between Montsi\u00e0 and Baix Ebre.<\/span><\/p>\n

8- Natural Park of the Alt Pirineu<\/b><\/h3>\n

Located on horseback in the counties of Pallars Sobir\u00e0 and Alt Urgell. The largest park in Catalonia, with 69,650 ha, where there is also the highest point, the Pica d’Estats. It\u2019s a refuge for endangered species, and has landscapes shaped by centuries of human activity.<\/span><\/p>\n

And that is just a small sample of all the beauty that gives us Catalan nature. All of them full of magical vegetation that like the XiuXiu tree, gives us life!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
